4/03/05 - Soombes Island
View from the beautiful Soombes Island (bit like a giant Furzey House paradise!)
I hopped on a boat to get to this really remote (tiny) island which is now a nature reserve (about 20min boat ride from Wellington).
I only had an hour to wander around it (as it had been shutting to visitors in the afternoons due to there being fire risks in the summer heat)
... and during my time there I didn't come across any other people ... and it felt amazing ... a cross between being in paradise & Furzey gardens!
So beautiful, peaceful and inspiring.
I had a great chat with God amongst parrots as i wandered the island circuit (laid out a bit like at Furzey!)
.... then I got to go across to another part of the mainland where I did a stunning 20km bike ride along some beautiful coastline, to a place called Pencarrow.
